Dr. Annemieke Coops qualified in 1996 as an optician and completed her bachelor degree in optometry in 2001 in The Netherlands. After a research project at Eurolens (Manchester, UK) and a Master of Philosophy in contact lenses, she completed in 2006 her PhD in glaucoma detection and monitoring at The University of Manchester (UK). Thereafter she held a faculty position at the optometry department of the University of Applied Sciences (Utrecht, NL), became involved in hospital optometry and served for many years as a policy adviser for the Dutch Optometric Association (OVN) and the Dutch Association of Health Care Trustees (NVTZ). In 2019 she started her own practice in Neuro Optometry.
